Pioneering the Next Frontier of Cinematography
Stanley Lin is a Los Angeles-based creative technologist and filmmaker working at the intersection of cinema, technology, and emerging media. With a background in film and business administration from the University of Southern California, his work spans traditional filmmaking, interactive storytelling, and next-generation imaging workflows. His research with USC’s Mobile and Environmental Media Lab and Ganek Immersive Studio focuses on digital image processing, optical testing, and the development of immersive 180º video production pipelines for platforms such as Apple Vision Pro.
Stanley’s current work explores how intelligent imaging tools and collaborative capture systems can support new creative practices. He is interested in imaging technology that understands context and help reveal or reinterpret aspects of a scene that are difficult to capture through conventional means. This research touches on questions of presence, perception, and trust across monoscopic filmmaking and consumption.
Beyond research, Stanley has produced and shot films across genres from gripping dramas to high-intensity action, with work screening at Pasadena International Film Festival, Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival, and International Ocean Film Festival.
